Fire damages apartment

A fire on an apartment balcony Tuesday spread into the attic of the second-story unit, a fire official said. The fire started about 6 a.m. at Pinehurst Apartments, 12401 N MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City fire District Chief Brian Stanaland said. No one was injured. The cause could not be determined.

Ex-official exits prison

Former Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher was released from prison Friday, records show. Fisher, 68, served a sentence for embezzling $1,000 of his own campaign funds and for lying on a contributions report. His bribery trial is set for Feb. 23.

Complaint claims threat

Self-proclaimed "video vigilante” Brian Bates said in a complaint filed against an Oklahoma City Police Department supervisor that the unidentified police supervisor made an implied threat about Bates’ future safety. Police Capt. Steve McCool said the department is aware of the complaint.
