TULSA
CHARGES FILED IN MAN’S DEATH
A second-degree murder charge has been filed against a man accused in the May 15 beating death of another man in Tulsa. Court records show that Everett Gillum, 24, is accused in the death of Marcus Jones, 51. Police said the men argued about money at an apartment before Jones was killed. Prosecutors allege that Gillum punched Jones several times, causing fatal injuries. Police said Gillum was arrested Thursday.

PETS RESCUED FROM HOME
Animal control officers rescued dozens of pets from a house whose owner now faces an animal-cruelty complaint. Police records show
Corrina Lenius, 36, is accused of keeping 25 cats, two parakeets and a dog in a dilapidated house. Police said some cats were kept in cages containing about 4 inches of feces. Veterinarians are hoping to nurse the animals to health and find
proper owners.

TESTIMONIES DIFFER IN CASE
Witnesses in the trial of a man accused of killing
Cori Baker, 13, said DNA and dental comparisons show remains found in
Creek County belong to her. But
Dr. Andrew Sibley, a forensic pathologist, listed the manner of death as unknown and the probable cause of death as undetermined. Sibley said those kinds of rulings are not applicable to resolving criminal court cases. Marquis
Bullock of Tulsa, who was the boyfriend of Cori’s sister, is on trial for first-degree murder. He is
accused of killing Cori on Nov. 9, 2007.
