History center to host gala for American Indian Archives
The Oklahoma History Center will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the American Indian Archives with a free workshop, a gala dinner, and a symposium Oct. 29-30. The American Indian Archives Symposium on Oct. 30 will feature noted scholars of American Indian history, including James Riding In, associate professor of American Indian Studies at Arizona State University, and Gus Palmer Jr., associate professor of anthropology at the University of Oklahoma. The $25 registration fee for the symposium includes lunch with keynote speaker Jay Hannah, chairman of the Cherokee Nation Enterprises’ Board of Directors.
