Woman sentenced to probation, Must repay tribal organization
A Stilwell woman was sentenced Monday to five years probation and ordered to pay more than $10,000 in restitution for embezzlement and theft from an Indian tribal organization, according to a U.S. attorney’s news release. Donna Sue Jones, 47, pleaded guilty in July to processing applications and issuing checks from the General Assistance Program while she was an employee of the Cherokee Nation Human Services Department, the news release said.

Man is ordered to reimburse nearly $19,000 to vets agency
A Heavener man was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay nearly $19,000 in restitution Monday for cashing compensation checks his deceased mother was receiving from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Scott Lesueur, 39, was accused of cashing the checks from October 2005 until January 2007, according to a U.S. attorney’s news release. Lesueur pleaded guilty to the charges in July.
