Library hosts war exhibit
The Edmond Library is hosting an exhibit about German POWs in the Midwest during 1943-46. The "Held in the Heartland” traveling exhibit includes a mobile classroom showing the history of the 250 base and branch war camps in the Midwest. The exhibit includes photos, documents, audio and DVD documentaries along with artifacts from the camps. The exhibit will be at the library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. The Edmond Library is at 10 S Boulevard. Admission is free.
General to visit rotary
Retired National Guard Maj. Gen. Rita Aragon will be the featured speaker Nov. 11 at the
Rotary Club of
Edmond. The service organization meets at noon Wednesdays at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, 15th and the east Interstate 35 Service Road. Aragon was the first female to hold the rank of Brigadier General in the
Oklahoma National Guard and the first female commander of the Oklahoma Air National Guard in March 2003. Lunch is available for $11.50. Reservations may be made by contacting

Children’s play planned
Actors in the Fine Arts Institute’s "The Bremen Town Musicians” are rehearsing for five performances later this month. The 12 cast members are second- through fifth-graders. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20; 3 and 7 p.m. Nov. 21, and 3 p.m. Nov. 22 at the
Fine Arts Institute, 27 E Edwards. Tickets are $5 and are on sale at institute. Call 340-4481 for more information.
