Red River gains notice
Red River Technology Center and HVAC Excellence announced that the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at the school has been granted a six-year national accreditation with commendation — the highest accreditation attainable, officials said. "I
am extremely happy and very proud of our program,” said Gary Williams,
an instructor
at Red River
Technology Center.

WEATHERFORD
Jazz groups plan concert
Two Southwestern Oklahoma State University jazz
ensembles will be featured in concert at 3 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium on the Weatherford
campus. SWOSU’s Jazz Ensemble "B” and Jazz Ensemble "A” will perform in
concert. Admission is free, and the
public is invited. The Jazz Ensemble "B” concert will feature "Cantaloupe Island,” by Herbie Hancock and "Running Lion,” by Doug Beach and George Shutak. The Jazz Ensemble "A” concert will feature big band songs by Grammy-Award winning composers and arrangers.

Panel meets about hire
Regents for the Regional University System of Oklahoma met Friday at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, and the search for a new president of SWOSU was discussed during an executive session. Four regents previously were appointed to serve on a search committee to fill the position. They are Harold Jackson of Chickasha, Joe Anna Hibler of Weatherford, Belva Howard of Tulsa and Connie Reilly of Okemah. No timetable for the process was announced.
