Jury receives Smart case
SALT LAKE CITY — Defense attorneys say there’s no question that Brian David Mitchell kidnapped and raped Elizabeth Smart. In closing arguments Thursday, his attorney hopes he will be found not guilty by reason of insanity. If convicted on the charges Mitchell could spend the rest of his life in prison.
