Increase seen in number of Hispanic prekindergartners

TULSA — Nearly half of Oklahoma 's 77 counties now have at least 10 percent of their prekindergartners coming from Hispanic backgrounds, according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau population estimates.

The number of counties meeting or exceeding the 10 percent threshold grew from 23 to 37 in the past decade, Census Bureau figures show.
