July 4 celebrations are planned for Thursday across the metro.

Tribute to Liberty, Thursday, Joe B Barnes Park, 8700 E Reno Ave. Live music, fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Information: 739-1293.


Celebration in the Heartland, Thursday, Buck Thomas Park, 1903 NE 12; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with fireworks at dark; food vendors, inflatables, arts and crafts, open car, truck and bike show, sand volleyball tournament. Banana Seat will perform at 7 p.m. at the south pavilion. Information:


Norman Day Celebration, Thursday, Reaves Park, 2501 Jenkins Ave. Activities begin in late afternoon with fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Events include food booths, baby crawl, nickel find, inflatables, pony rides, watermelon feed and live music. Information: 321-1600.


Freedom Fest, Thursday, Yukon City Park and Chisholm Trail Park; Children's parade, free swimming, car show, sand volleyball tournament, live music, free watermelon and ice cream at Chisholm Trail Park, fireworks at dusk. Information: 350-8937.
