Indiana slaying suspect caught in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma County deputies arrested a suspect today in a 1995 shooting death, an official said.

Theodore Howard Hemmons III, 38, was nabbed at an apartment complex near NW 16 and MacArthur Avenue this morning, said Mark Myers, sheriff's department spokesman.

Hemmons faces a murder complaint in the 1995 death of James McMullen, 53, who was shot to death in his home in Terre Haute, Ind., Myers said.

Indiana investigators had interviewed Hemmons in the past, but didn't have enough evidence linking him to the slaying until a witness recently came forward, Myers said.

Hemmons is being held at the Oklahoma County jail pending extradition to Indiana, Myers said.
