Injuries from crash are fatal for Idabel man, 33

WRIGHT CITY — An Idabel man is dead after his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree Wednesday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Donnie Ray Carter, 33, was driving east on a McCurtain County road, 2 miles west of Wright City, when his pickup ran off the south side of the road and struck a tree about 5:25 p.m., according to a patrol report.

Carter was taken to McCurtain Memorial Hospital where he died.

He was not wearing a seat belt.
