Inmate escapes from prison near Atoka

— Authorities are looking for a man who escaped this morning from a southeast Oklahoma prison.

Tracy Cartwright, 42, escaped from Howard McLeod Correction Center near Atoka, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. He was last seen wearing gray inmate clothing and possibly driving a white Chevy Blazer.

Cartwright, who was serving 25 years for convictions of burglary and running a road block, is 6 feet, 2 inches tall, 196 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, and has several identifying tattoos, including an eagle on his chest, a castle and face on the back of his left arm and skulls, flames and the words "RIP Eric" on his left arm.

Anyone who sees Cartwright is urged to call 911.
