Instagrammers explore Oklahoma, capture its beauty

If you’re interested in photography, you should definitely get involved with the Oklahoma City Instagram crowd.

Last Sunday, we hosted an Instameet with The Oklahoman photographers Doug Hoke and Nate Billings, and we had people with all types of skills, ranging from traditional photography to smartphone technology, show up to explore the Paseo District with us.

Through conversations with local photographers, it quickly became apparent that Oklahoma City has something very special. We have a dedicated and large Instagram community compared to other cities our size.

And most, if not all, of the members are willing to help and educate one another, whether it’s a discussion on new camera equipment or editing apps for your phone.

It’s a very welcoming community, and one we’re now proud to be a part of.

Thanks to those who attended our first Instameet this past week. The weather was perfect, the people were friendly and so far the photos haven’t disappointed.

Search the tag #igersokc_paseo on Instagram to see more. And be sure to follow NewsOK and NewsOKPhoto for future Instameets. I hear the next one hosted by a local photographer is going to be pretty awesome.
