Instameet with us in the Paseo

We’ve called an Instameeting.

If you’re on Instagram, you’re invited.

And if you are not on Instagram — or you don’t know what it is, you’re invited, too.

Two of the best photographers in the state will be hanging out with members of the Instagram community in Oklahoma on Oct. 6 to snap tons of creative photos.

On that Sunday afternoon, we will be in Oklahoma City’s Paseo District at 4 p.m. in the lot south of Paseo Grill/Kathy’s, west of The Avalon. By 6 p.m., we’ll have the Paseo District picture-perfect.

Doug Hoke, the director of photo for The Oklahoman, and Nate Billings, a photojournalist at The Oklahoman, will join Tiffany Gibson, NewsOK’s news web editor, to meet with anyone who wants to join them to capture images together.

It’s free. It’s fun. It’s educational. And it’s a creative outlet.

And best of all, there are no strings attached. If you’d like to start following our Instagram accounts, we’d like that — but you don’t have to.

NewsOK is actually represented with two different Instagram accounts. The Oklahoman’s photo department can be found @NewsOKPhoto. Tiffany and the rest of the newsroom are posting @News_OK.

And there’s no charge for following both of them.

The Instameeting is meant to be a fun way to interact with some of our photo professionals in a relaxed atmosphere.

If you enjoy taking images and want to spend a couple hours talking about ways to capture the best with some of the best, put this on your calendar …  instantly.
