An Edmond church recently launched a new service that welcomes everyone but is designed with individuals from other nations in mind.

The All Nations Worship Service began April 27 at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. The service is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sundays at the church, 1001 S Rankin St.

Steve Kinney, a First Presbyterian elder, said the model for the weekly service is Jesus, who mentored 12 disciples.

Inspiration for the service comes from First Presbyterian’s mission work in eastern Uganda and in Kenya, where members have been sent as part of an expanding church-planting effort since 2007. The congregation also supports a home for children in Kenya.

First Presbyterian members Eunice and Robert Menja, whose homeland is Kenya, created Upendo Kids International so that missionaries could help Kenyan children.
