A man who wanted a snow cone was arrested Monday after trying to force his way into the stand selling the icy beverages.

Oklahoma City police responded to a burglary call about 1 p.m. Monday at the Snow Cone Shack, 3333 W Hefner Road.

When officers arrived, they found Michael Donahue, 29, bent over the door nob to the snow cone stand, according to a police report.

A woman working at the stand told police Donahue got a bottle of water from the stand and left. He then came back, she said, and started trying to break the door nob to the stand. When that did not work, Donahue began trying to beat and push on the door, according to a police report.

When officers tried to speak with Donahue, his speech was slurred and difficult to understand, police said. When they asked what he was doing, he said he was “trying to get a snow cone,” according to the report.

Donahue was arrested on complaints of public drunk and burglary. He was booked into Oklahoma County jail where he remained Thursday on $3,000 bail.
