Shawnee artist, Linda Dixon, is offering an "Intuitive Painting Clinic" at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art on Saturday, May 18th.  In order to keep the clinic classes small, two class sessions are available: 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm.

The intuitive painting clinic is designed to help artists of all skill levels get in touch with their inner muses. Participants relax in a pressure-free environment, and are encouraged to unleash their creativity on the canvas.  Each session of this class is limited to 12 participants, encouraging an intimate environment and plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor.

Donna Merkt, MGMoA Curator of Education, describes the class as "an opportunity to let go of the confines of realism and the need to create something perfect."  She explains that "often artists who work very realistically or those individuals who wish to paint, but don't feel capable of producing realistic imagery, can be inhibited in their artistic efforts due to these expectations."  According to Merkt, in this class, participants will be led through a series of guided exercises to help break down those inhibitions.
