A manager at Walgreens, 301 S Santa Fe Ave., said the metro area is experiencing a problem with iodine thefts, according to an Edmond police report released Wednesday. She told police about 20 bottles of iodine have been stolen in recent months.

The latest theft took place about 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Edmond pharmacy, police said.

The thief was described as a bearded white man, about 5-foot-11, with a thin build and in his mid-40s, who looked scruffy. He left the store in a white, four-door Toyota.
