DES MOINES, Iowa — Diory Hernandez hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to seal the Iowa Cubs' 4-1 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Saturday night at Principal Park.
Hernandez drove in three of the Cubs' runs, and Ty'Relle Harris (2-3) allowed one run in six innings to pick up the win for Iowa.
Mike Hessman drove in the lone run for the RedHawks, who were held to four hits. Oklahoma City starter Brett Oberholtzer (5-7) allowed seven hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings to take the loss. He struck out seven.
The series concludes at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Left-hander Rudy Owens (0-3, 5.08 ERA) starts for the RedHawks against Iowa's Chris Rusin (8-8, 4.59).
