Your thoughts!
One year I filed taxes and DHS took over $2300.00 of it and I got back about $700.00. I felt, finally, whew, I'll put a dent in this debt with the state. BS! My childs mother never got a dime of it because as the person I spoke with put it, "It goes to administrative services?" I told her, "I'll just work under the table jobs and you'll never touch my money again!" She said, "Sir, this debt will never go away!" to which I replied, "It will never go away because it pays your salaries while my child goes without, you are some corrupt MF's" and I hung up! To this date, as I always have in the past, I send b-day cards, holiday letters and cash, clothes and gifts. The state says those things are not applied to the child support debt and are considered "gifts", so I keep every receipt and purchase I spend, but I do not send it to the state of Oklahoma. The state of Oklahoma is basically extorting money since the services they do provide my child are not quality nor cost incurred services. What is costly is them sitting on their butts collecting a check and shuffling paperwork! I say boycott the states services and taxes!
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 6, 2008 at 8:09 pm
Johnny...You are 100% correct about Child Support, and I am sure it is the same throughout the country. My Child Support was always withheld from my retirement and paid directly to my ex via direct deposit. Then, DHS discovered that I was retired military and had my Child Support payments redirected to OKDHS. By doing that, they (DHS), receives more in the way of Federal Block Grants, Title IV-D. But tell DHS that the custodial parent is interferring with and/or preventing "visitation" and they (DHS) turn a deaf ear. It's all about the money!
Dennis, Oklahoma City - Jun 6, 2008 at 12:37 pm
Actually, Oklahoma has the worst record nationally with regards to the protection of children and childrens rights, unless they are a minority committing a crime, then they are sent to jail, juvenile or prison and then the criminal population increases? The irony is that DHS never misses a beat in child support collection, but their monitoring and actual concern for children in Oklahoma with pedophiles and child abusers is not as efficient, why is that? They use children as a sick PR tool when in fact children in Oklahoma are the most unprotected lives in the state. Oklahomans are more concerned with getting money from Indian casinos and Gene Stipes freedom. Go figure!
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 6, 2008 at 10:05 am
OFF TOPIC: Dennis, I understand that your past experiences have given you "hands on " knowledge and insight into the injustices and abuses and ineptness that can and does often occur when a child is placed in the hands of DHS. I have no personal insight into the system or the life resulting from such placement. Your having been entrusted into the custody of foster care gives you expertise in the area of judging that system. I admire your decision and commitment to seek remedies to such things. Children certainly need an advocate like you. I applaud you for taking a stand on their behalf.

S/B: that one day my grandchildren...
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 9:34 pm
As a woman, I thank you for your sentiment, but like MLK, I have a dream; that one my grandchildren will not be judged for anything (sexual orientation, religion, gender or race) but by the content of their character. The greatest legacy we can leave our children is to acquaint them people in all walks of life who have integrity, honesty, and value service to others. That includes setting that example in their own family.
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 9:33 pm
ERROR! I think Hillary Clinton is history in the making. Ever heard of Alice Paul? It has been over a hundred year . . . . ,
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 5, 2008 at 6:24 pm
As citizens of this great nation, it is our responsibility to report and document these injustices. The good'ol boy network is still alive and killing, so we have to make sure we are not at it alone. What might traumatize a child for life seems like comedy for some law enforcement, but I must also remind myself that my father was a deputy in a small town. He had post traumatic stress syndrome from Vietnam. He was verbally and physically abusive to my mother pulling knives and guns on her. He pulled a 45 on my brother and I and one night forced me to play Russian roulette with him. In hindsight, he needed help, and he changed over the years to a gentle, compassionate wise man. I miss him. What I never could figure out is how his co-workers and employers never sought to help us get him into the VA for counseling and treatment. Finally, he got it and I always gave him a handshake and hug when I saw him in his last years. Oklahoma is so far behind in its treatment of its citizens that it angers me when I see the authority we pay with our taxes and our very lives abuse their power. I cannot stress it enough for us to join in spirit at least to rid this great state of diversity of its cancers from the past. Its leadership. I tried to email and speak to OU Prez David Boren but got no response. I was fired illegally and basically kicked out of school for not paying a debt when I took leave to be with my mother after my father died, still, Boren would not hear me. What does this say about our state and its leadership? I am not angry, as a matter of fact, I am happy to leave that money sucking institution. It boasts of many good things, but its treatment of minorities from Oklahoma is worse than its treatment of foreign students. I think Hillary Clinton is history in the making. It has been over a hundred years since men tortured her in this country for refusing and defying authority. She almost became a martyr. No matter how men feel about my feminist leanings as a man, I see justice as it is, an abuse of power. The great thing about this nation and its political structure is that we have the ability to introduce laws and policies that may not pass on the first round, but eventually become living laws. Elections are the same and a woman will someday be President. It is embarrassing how India, Britain, and many other nations have already had female leadership and here we are, past the millinea and still view woman as the weaker sex. On the contrary, women are the stronger sex. They bring forth life after nine months of trial; they are better organizers and coordinators; they outlive men because their bodies endure more pain than men; and, they are also more compassionate creatures than most men. How is it this nation never has put that kind of a person in the Whitehouse is beyond comprehension. Its time to get out of the cave people and start viewing the world from your front doors!
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 5, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Floyd, I can understand much of your resentment. The only time I have been in the same position was while we were in Miss. and I chose to join three freedom marches. I was jeered at and had rocks thrown at me and nearly lost my job and get my husband busted. But I pervailed and that is why I am so thrilled to see Obama come this far. I feel like my struggles were not in vain. It gives me real hope for my bi-racial great grandchildren. We all have our perspectives formed by our personal experiences and no one has ever had the same. I have really had to force myself to see beyond my own experiences and empathize with others. That's why I love these forums. I'm so sad for what happened to you, but I have to believe that they were the exception and not the rule.
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 6:02 pm
Johnny, I have been harassed by the Kingfisher County government for simply minding our own business. They deliberately intended to flood us out and channeled water from miles away to some of our farms, mainly our home farm where we had the dairy. We were carrying guns and gas masks all the time. I know first hand how it feels to be totally in the right, minding your own business legally and the county nitwits ganging up on us just to get a laugh. After it was over, some of them confessed to us they could have stopped their harassment at any time but they were amused.
Floyd, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 3:31 pm
I am grateful that Hillary Clinton offered herself and her family up for public scrutiny by wanting to be our first woman president...she has proven to be an wonderful example for young women, a great American, and an admirable person. I thank her for wanting to serve our contry and am glad that she stayed in the race. I wish Mr. Obama the best and feel that he too will represent the United States of America well.
Grace, Las Cruces - Jun 5, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Johnny...I really don't have any answers for you. But, I would like to share an experience of mine with you. When I was 8 years old, I was living in a foster home that was in a culturally diverse section of town, yet the neighborhoods were distinctly African-American, Hispanic, and Caucasian, and a spattering of Oriental. My foster mother told me that I was not allowed to walk down a certain street when going to or coming home from school, period. Well, one of my best friends in third grade happen to be Black, and one day he and I walked home from school. Amazing, nothing changed in my world. Then I started walking home with him everyday. One day my foster mother saw me walking home on the "other side of the street." When I got home she blistered my butt, because she told me I was not allowed to walk home with Black kids. Guess who I ended up disliking? Hatred is a choice. If one is exposed to corporate hatred, then they must decide if they are willing to take a stand and confront it, join themselves to it, tolerate it, or walk away from it. It's not the words a man hears that defiles him, but the words that come out of his own mouth.
Dennis, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 1:35 pm
We cannot control what people feel, but we can detour by diplomacy and dialogue the actions that make hate a concrete harm and hold hate responsible in the courts of law. My question is this Dennis, how do you take hate away from law enforcement, the courts, the educational institution, or the church, since those are what shape a community and the life they affect? If you meet hate on the street, you go to fist city and the stronger, not necessarily the righteous, wins, but that hate places one in jail and the other in the hospital, or worse, but when your teacher, judge, police officer or minister displays hate, what do you do? There was an incident recently in Bethany where an officer racially scolded a mother and her sons during a stop. There crime and penance was just, but these officers will continue their hate, right? This is systematic and protected hate Dennis and I pose the tougher question to you. Is this advocated hatred and racism?
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 5, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Paula...I have to tell ya, I know what "hate" is. Mine is not directed at a group of people, but a single person. Throughout my life there have been people I have disliked, just as there have been many folks that have disliked me. But hate, is a terrible emotion and it really does wear on you. I could never hate anyone because of the color of their skin, or because they were born in another country, or believe in a different God than I do. I constantly have to keep a check on my hatred. It just makes me wonder what others, that advocate hatred and racism, must feel about themselves.
Dennis, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 12:40 pm
This is the greatest nation on earth not because the world fears our iron fist or our golden streets, we are the greatest nation on earth because we have evolved over 200 years into a diverse society that drops our bibles, guns, and money to jump into the fire with each other to save a human life. Unfortunately, it took the OKC bombing, 911, and mother natures fury to see this glory called humanity in action. Why can't we just do this on the streets and across the conference tables? I have lived in CO, CA, AZ, NM, SC, SD, TX, AR, FL, Korea and Oklahoma and I have never seen such a tough people as Americans or a more friendly community than what we have in Oklahoma, why can't we move forward and why does Oklahoma continue to stay in the caves of indifference and fear? Could it be our leadership? It seems in Oklahoma, the criminals are not the citizens, the criminals are the leadership. Look at the headlines! Lawyers, Legislators, ministers, teachers, police officers, gov't workers, need I go on? are all being indicted for some abuse of power! We can only blame ourselves as citizens, apply that on a federal level to the current administration. I hope Clinton becomes the VP. Things in this country will really change and maybe we will not be bled and outsourced, but become the brilliant muscle we once were again. Then other nations will come to us for answers since they now hate us, but love our money and resources!
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 5, 2008 at 12:26 pm
Wow, I enjoyed Johnnie's post from Mountain View. What an interesting perspective on this election. If the Supreme Court doesn't INTERVENE, and the Electoral College doesn't frick this up, I believe Obama will win by a landslide, barring any unforeseen circumstances which the Republicans are sure to try to use to gain the White House.
Mike, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 11:50 am
Dennis, Judie and Paula, I am glad that there are some sane Oklahomans still out there that have opinion not based on emotion, but sincerely based intelligence. Floyd seems afraid that Obama is gonna kick in his door and put a gun to his head. Well, thats already happened to me at the University of Oklahoma. As a veteran, educator, and grandfather, I was thought to be a drug cartel, or OUPD was doing tactical exercises on me and my neighbors. They didn't find a thing and it happened more than once to my Indian neighbors and I. We never sued because natives still believe in country and honor. Floyd has obviously never been a target of his own government. Now, Iraqis are going through what we have experienced for 500 years, but we still serve and die for a nation that rejects us, why? All I want is a new nation of leadership in the Whitehouse with a new direction. The US is not hated for its freedom. The US is hated for killing innocent civilians, kicking in their doors and putting guns in their face. Native Americans still endure this terrorism, but no one is listening. I served this nation overseas, but it means nothing? How do you honor being spit at and rejected in your country? Remember Vietnam? My father served there and my grandfather died there Floyd. I honor you for your heart of taking care of your family, but if you reach beyond your familys lives and start to show love for someone completely different than your circle, your compassion means nothing. I apologize for my racial remarks, but I do not vote for Hillary because she is too comfortable in Washington and still has ties from her business as usual crowd of Bill Clinton. McCain is going to insure more body bags come home and IS going to protect Bush from taxpayers who's grandchildren will pay for our Trillion dollar debt, but I vote for Obama because he is not experienced in Washington and to me, that is a good thing! Slavery has shifted to the American taxpayer since we have no say how our money is spent after it leaves our checks and we are tired of seeing pork agendas, wars we have no vote on, and gas, which has been discovered, should be $2.25 a gallon.
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 5, 2008 at 11:16 am
From a historical perspective, it is indeed amazing to see how far we have come in the last 50-60 years, with regards to running for President of the United States. It does seem that the time has come to pass the torch to the younger generation. More than anything else, it is my sincerest hope, that the next President of the United States will bring our Airmen, Marines, Sailors and Soldiers home by the end of 2009.
Dennis, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 9:35 am
(Off Topic)C, PV...as always, good to see you on the boards. I wish you could read the blog from the Mother (non-custodial parent) that was recently reunited with her children after years of "alienation." I at least applaud Hillary for shattering the glass ceiling. Now I can groom my 5-year-old granddaughter for the Presidency in 2044.
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 5, 2008 at 8:30 am
I can't believe the amount of hate some people hold in their souls. I pity those of you who behave in that manner.
Paula, Midwest City - Jun 5, 2008 at 7:55 am
Well Lou, I guess Kennedy missed the opportunity to use nukes on Russia and it was the generals that wanted peace? Obviously, you don't know that Vietnam was begat before the US got there being a French colony with a revolution from the north and since the Cold War was at its peak. If we're gonna make bullets and sell them to our enemies like we did Saddam, they will be used, even against us. You must be happy seeing young Americans die so Bush can be rich and fulfill your capitalist dreams. Clinton was facing impeachment for being dishonest and Bush is your God dancing around the world and helping out CIA agents identity, but I guess your happy paying in blood and cash for your current Prez, but many of us are not. The plain fact is no matter how incompetent and evil a white man is, he still represents the worst of you around the world while you sit there and can't figure out why you fear a new leadership. Keep on pumping your gas Lou with love in your heart! I'll get my head out of the sand Louey Boy if you get your head out of something else!
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 5, 2008 at 1:19 am
Johnny boy, get your head out of the sand. The Kennedy's , particularily John got us invoved in Vietnam! Teddy boy got drunk and had a wreck that killed a young girl, so do not try to portray the Kennedy's peace mongers! I have absolute no use for them, now O'bum O is getting the young Kennedy girl to help him, watch out!
LG, Yukon - Jun 5, 2008 at 12:10 am
As Americans, we should stop lying about the fact that we are not ready for an articulate, intelligent, passionate, and multi-racial President. It seems as long as "he" is white, rich, fraternity privileged and corporate driven, defense spending (now we will really have to spend), and ignorant, Americans will honor him. McCain will win because the military industry will not allow someone who wants a domestic minded leader. Remember what happened to the Kennedy's? They wanted peace and peace is not profitable. I can't figure which is more into death and destruction. Muslims, or Christians? Maybe I should ask Jerry Falwell?
Johnny, Mountain Park - Jun 4, 2008 at 11:36 pm
OFF TOPIC: Dennis, want you to know that due to circumstances beyond my control I was unable to respond again to the post regarding the DHS case in Marshall County, Alabama. I was able to read the correspondence you received from the mother involved in that injustice. My heartfelt sympathy to her. I was shocked to learn of the trickery involved in being required to sign papers ...then subsequently finding such signatures resulted in one's giving up a right and that such the signatures would be taken to mean something far different than intended. It was enlightening and shockingly outrageous to hear her first hand account of what was transpiring there. I regret that I was unable to discuss this timely. Just FYI.
C, PV - Jun 4, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Hillary Clinton's contempt for Mr. Obama is on full display for the world to see. The person has no ounce for respect for others. It has always been about her and Bill. I am in no way supporting any candidate. However, America has just passed a monumental milestone in its history, one could not been imagined a short time ago, and for her to refuse to give Obama, and, those American who made it possible is despicable. My predication is that she will drag her party down all for her sake. America has just proved what a great country it is, and Hillary Clinton has shown the world that somethings never change. I don't care about her wanting to continue on but she should have shouted to the world Obama's winning nomination and what a great nation this is.
Mister, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 4:07 pm
Thank you John and Paula...I was just curious.
Dennis, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 3:42 pm
You're correct John. I was referring to any and all religious texts from any and all religions. Swearing in ceremonies do not use them.
Paula, Midwest City - Jun 4, 2008 at 3:10 pm
I would guess Paula is refering to the Bible, the Koran, The Book of Mormon, The Torah, etc.
John, Norman - Jun 4, 2008 at 3:05 pm
Try not to get off on the Trinity. It justs opens up arguments that only serve to divide.
Floyd, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Paula...by "religious text of any denomination," are you making reference to the Bible?
Dennis, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 2:51 pm
What relevance does the red herring of religion have to do with governing the secular United States of America? I am interested in solving educational deficiencies, getting our boys home from Iraq, and regaining our position in the family of nations. I could give a rat's ass about what the beliefs are of any candidates mother.
John, Norman - Jun 4, 2008 at 2:49 pm
You are right, Paula. You made the distinction I should have. Mike, you are right too, the past Republican campaign practices linger on. And, Jimmy of Sand shores, there's a glimmer of truth in what you say too, but the corollary is that rich people have been voting for republicans, and they've become much richer while the poor and middle class are stretched over the twin racks of the Republican tax plan, and the Republican economy which has reduced the buying power of the average American family at the same time it has reduced the value of the dollar in addition to running up a national debt which our generation will never pay off.
Jan, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 2:28 pm
The only record of Ann Dunham being an aethiest was made by her in college. In later years she refused to discuss in public her spiritual beliefs but her own daughter said she was an agnostic. Barack said she was the most caring, kind person he ever knew. I would also describe my daughter as such, even though she is not a Christian. When Ann Dunham said that in college it was out of frustration over how she viewed the un-Christian activities by so-called Christians. This is the same thing that has led my daughter away from the faith. Let me just add this, Ann Dunham was born in Kansas to parents that believed in God and the preachings of Jesus. In my book, one can be a Christian without believing in the Trinity. But then I guess that is strictly a matter for interpretation.
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 2:06 pm
I see the old Republican practice here learned from Bush and Cheney. Repeat a lie enough and it almost becomes the truth. Be careful who you call a liberal, George W has way outspent Clinton and I'm not counting wars and homeland gestapo.
Rob, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Just FYI for everyone: The swearing in ceremonies of US House members do not involve religious texts of ANY denomination. No one puts their hand on the bible or the koran and recites the oath of office. Don't believe me? Look on YouTube and watch the videos of the swearing in ceremonies. They hold their right hand up and leave their left hand at their side. Now after the ceremony there is a photo session. Most House members opt to have the religious text of their choosing present during these photo sessions. There has only been one member thus far to use the koran during the photo session, but it wasn't Barack Obama; it was Keith Ellison (D-Minn), the first Muslim elected to the US Congress. The story has been erroneously attributed to Obama in an attempt to scare the American public into thinking he is aligned with the extremist Terrorist sects such as Al Qaida. But it's completely untrue.
Paula, Midwest City - Jun 4, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Chris from Plano - I do hear what you are saying. Why is everyone so focussed on Obama's religion and not on McCain's religion? I can understand why some would be concerned if Obama was Muslim, but he is not. Everyone, please keep this in mind...Most candidates say that they are Christian, but saying you're a Christian doesn't mean that you are a "practicing" Christian. Talking the talk is different than walking the walk. Don't believe everything you read or hear. Research and make educated decisions. I don't vote for a "party" - I vote for the person. We all should stop bashing each other and other parties and start looking at what is important. Our country is in somewhat of a crisis. I for one am very concerned about our country's economic status. It's my opinion that the lesser of "three" evils is out of the race, but I'm not convinced that there is anyone left on the ballot with a true passion for anything. Which man cares for the good of all people?
Stephanie, Oklahoma - Jun 4, 2008 at 12:29 pm
The Supreme Court elected Bush the first time, so the people don't have their voices heard to begin with. I wonder if the illegals with have the right to vote. They have more rights than the citizens have now. Obama would like that. Mr. 3rd term for Bush(McCain) could surely get the gas prices where they should be- $8.00 a gallon. He can wipe out a whole generation of our youth, continuing a war based on lies. But then again Obama could place his business associates in Chicago (Mafia) in high positions in the Government, they know how to keep everyone in line.
We, ThePeople - Jun 4, 2008 at 10:09 am
Chris, Plano...Would you care to elaborate? Specifically, what form(s) of "racism" do the so-called "religous right" practice?
Dennis, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 9:49 am
It's sad that the Religious "Right" are allowed to freely practice their own form of "racism". It shouldn't matter what someone's race, sex, creed and RELIGION are! It's also sad the extremists are the ones that voted GW Bush in will also now vote in GW McCain! These extremists are the Timothy McVeigh-types, the overly religious, the racist, the rich and...even worse...the poor white trash that needs someone to represent them! They are so blinded by "God and guns" that they can't see past it! Obama would give them a better chance at prosperity! I have faith and religion in my life, but I also can vote for the best candidate! How religious is George W McCain? Nobody seems to ask that! Is it because he is white, so he must have a christian religion background? OPEN YOUR EYES!!! DO NOT ALLOW ANOTHER 4-8 YEARS OF WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW!!!
Chris, Plano - Jun 4, 2008 at 8:54 am
Steve, A U.S. House member DID take his oath of office on the Koran. Obama, who is not and never has been a Muslim, did not. Like it or not, that is the truth. You may have seen that House member swear on the Koran becaus it was widely publicized. It was widely publicized bewcause he is the only one who has ever done so. I don't particularly care if you don't like Obama, but your "reason" for that position isn't true and doesn't make sense. Try to deal with reality.
Jan, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 8:24 am
To whom it may concern: I chose to make my point and have attempted to reinforce it and make it understandable in one post rather than by making mulitple short posts as some people choose to do. ____ I did not and I do not intend my posts to be of an inflammatory nature. I have noted that there now seems to be an increasingly strong tendency toward inflammatory posting by some who post on the forum. Too bad. Not a change for the better or one that encourages the quest for greater understanding and respect for one another. Of course, that's my "opinon."
C, PV - Jun 4, 2008 at 8:21 am
Well... thank you, Judie. I haven't caught many posts of late. _____Now, I simply want to clarify my post. I fear you must have read some things into it which it was not intended to express. It was only intended to address the statement that Senator Barack Hussein Obama was raised by a Kansas Christian mother and grandparents. ___So here goes...one more time. To whom it may concern: Senator Obama's mother was not a Christian. She was an atheist. Her parents (Senator Obama's Kansas grandparents) left the Christian roots they previously held to become members of the Unitarian Church. That statement is not intended to debate any tenets of the Unitarian Church or to offer any indepth doctrine of that denomination. Stating Ann Dunham (Senator Obama's mother) was an atheist is not an attempt to indict her for her failure to accept the faith of her parents or to make any kind of judgment thereof. ____In other words, my post (and this one) have only one purpose. I feel it is appropriate to point out that Senator Obama's mother was not a Kansas Christian. I did not intend to make any judgment in regard to any of these parties. I did not intend it as "opinion" either. I am not giving my opinion in regard to any of these people or of their faith or lack of it. _____ I only intended to correct what I believe to be an erroneous statement. Though I am also not assuming the role of advocate, I doubt Ann Dunham would want to be labeled as something she was not. _____Also, I do not intend to imply that children always do or even always should embrace the choices of their parents. ____Too much was read into my post. Again...the point was that an erroneous statement was made in regard to Senator Obama's mother. By her own admission, Ann Dunham, Senator Barack Hussein Obama's mother, was not a Christian. (Also, she may have been raised in Kansas by parents, but I do not believe she remained there indefinitely. She was off to other localities and continents. They may or may not have been Christians. I am not making judgements of their choices. This post and my other were not intended to evaluate any of the above stated people. )
C, PV - Jun 4, 2008 at 8:03 am
what difference if she makes the "right" decision. The rest of the country has already made the decision for her. lol.. What a stupid question. Ask if she should be on the ticket as VP... now that will get it going hot and heavy.
Mike, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 4:04 am
woooo... John works in law enforcement. He washes the police cars maybe? oh wait... he's a meter maid.. lol.. what an idiot. Like.. does anyone believe what anyone says they have or are on the internet. lol.. I used to be president you know.
Mike, Oklahoma City - Jun 4, 2008 at 4:02 am
Lou, one other thing. Good luck on McBush being elected President. If I were you, I wouldn't put a lot of money on that one though. Americans are tired of that taste in their mouth, time to wash it out. I don't make over 300,000 a year, so I need somebody to represent me for a change.
Rob, Oklahoma City - Jun 3, 2008 at 11:46 pm
Like I've always said Lou, when Clinton lied, nobody died. But, you hang with him, almost 35000 American casualties in Iraq. What a guy.
Rob, Oklahoma City - Jun 3, 2008 at 11:39 pm
Now Mike, hold on, Bush never said "I never had sex with that cow"!
LG, Yukon - Jun 3, 2008 at 11:32 pm
I've owned Dairy cows that would make a better President than Bush. He will go down as the sorriest, lying idiot in our History.
Rob, Oklahoma City - Jun 3, 2008 at 10:45 pm
And rich people continue to vote Republican because the Republicans make them richer.
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 3, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Oh, and I might add that going to any church does not mean you necessarily believe all they teach. Heaven knows I disagree with most of the Southern Baptist tenets but I go because they cared enough to care about me when I moved here. I love my church family. There are many reasons why a person may belong to a church and still not abandon their initial values.

C, good to hear from you. Have missed your postings. However, members of the Unitarian church are not athiests. They DO believe in one God, unlike my daughter who is a true aethiest and does not believe that God exists. However, Barack was mostly raised by his grandmother, whom he acknowledged in a speech tonight, and she was a devout Christian. Just as in my own family, the children do not always follow what the parents preach. My daughter didn't and certainly Ann Dunham didn't.

Hey Judie, it's actually spelled O'Bum-O!
John McCain will clean his plow and John McCain WILL be our next President.

I believe the "reality" some who post here may have failed to accept (if one is truly seeking accuracy in his/her "own" reality) is that Ann Dunham, Barack Hussein Obama's mother, may well have been from Kansas, but she was an atheist. Her parents abandoned their Methodist and Baptist roots for a Unitarian Church. One basic principle of the Unitarian Church (not to be confused with the United Church of Christ) is the lack of belief in the Trinity.

Poor people have been voting for democrats forever and they are still poor.
Jimmy, Sandy Shores - Jun 3, 2008 at 7:41 pm
It's obvious, Steive, (misspelled on purpose)you don't like Obama, but at least show a little intelligence by spelling his name right. I will vote for Obama because like you I think he is the least worst of the worst. Sometimes it takes more than experience. Sometimes it's best to know just a little and know how to select the best advisors. This was a talent Bush lacked.

Not an extremeist a realist. Barrack Hussein Oboma is bad for our country. Not saying any of the other candidates are any better. But in this day and age pick the least worst of the worst and vote for them regardless of party affiliation.
Also he is a junior senator with very little experience runing anything. Check his record out!!!

I can't believe there are still people around who think Obama is a Muslim. He was raised by a mother and grandparents who were Kansas Christians. Some people just refuse to accept facts.
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 3, 2008 at 5:28 pm
Steve in Moore. You are an extremist/alarmist. Obama is not a Muslim.
Mike, Oklahoma City - Jun 3, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Back to the topic, yes, I think she made the right move by getting out (if indeed, she did, which I'm hearing both sides now). But I do not think Obama should choose her as a VP runningmate. There has been too much blood shed between the two of them. He needs to go with Edwards or Biden or another pick of his choice, which will be strong in the November election. Focus people. The question wasn't whether or not this or that poster is a Communist or a Marxist. It was "Is Hillary Clinton making the right decision?" And I assume that refers to her giving up her bid for the Presidency.

Dont beleive everything you read on the net, and yes he did take his oath on the Koran, as I saw it it on the news. HIs hand on the Koran, not the Bible. As far as MCcain did I say I lkiked him, no I did not.
Steve, moore - Jun 3, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Steve, Sen. Obama did not take the oath of ofice with the Koran. You need to do a little research outside of the John Birch Society. You do know however that McCain was brainwashed as a POW. He is poised to turn the country over to the Vietnamese communists if elected. The movie the Manchurian Candidate is based on his life. it's true, I read it on the net.
John, Norman - Jun 3, 2008 at 4:46 pm
I can not believe the American people voted for this Muslim idiot, who is nothing but a good orator. He is MUSLIM no matter what he says, because he took his oath of office for the Senate with the Koran. Pleae pray for our country as we nee di tnow more than ever.

Maybe PC North had it's gangs, but we never encountered them nor did it touch my granddaughter in any way. If they were there then the Campus police must have kept them well in check.
judie, Oklahoma City - Jun 3, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Judie, pull your head out of the sand! All the PC schools have gangs in them, including North.I do have the statistics, Im in law enforcement.Go ask a PC campus Police Officer what kind of gang problems they have.Just because there are as you put it "rich nice kids" at PC north does not exempt them from gang problems. Not all the district of pc north is inhabited by rich people.

Kj are you talking of the America of Jim Crow, slavery, voting rights for white landowners only? The America of internment camps for Japenese Americans? Maybe the America of indian reservations? The America of Enron and big business stealing workers pensions? No thanks pal, I'm ready for change. As for the question at hand, the "right decision" was made for her not by her. Scoreboard. Obama '08.
