ISU's Paul Rhodes: Kickoff return was only good thing for Cyclones
Published: November 8, 2009
Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads
"Oklahoma State is a very good football team. They execute very well. I thought our kickoff return game was good, but that's about where it ends. We were outcoached, outplayed on offense and defense and everywhere else you look."
ISU quarterback Austen Arnaud
"We started slow. You can't afford to start slow against the No. 18 team in the nation and credit to Oklahoma State. They played great on both sides of the ball. At times we played well, but we turned the ball over and had too many penalties. You can't do that against a great team."
ISU tight end Collin Franklin
"It's rough. It's another tough loss. When you lose in a close game, or lose back-to-back games where you didn't compete like you know you can, that hurts, too."
ISU free safety James Smith
"This is a great team and they found some holes that they could slip through."
