"You get some younger kids in there and you keep the older kids fresh. We felt as a coaching staff we might have hindered that a little earlier.

"We felt like, ‘Hey, let's get these kids ready. They're going to be playing for us anyway next year.' ”

Beckman said he liked most that the pressure didn't require much blitzing or gambling.

"We didn't do a bunch to help create it, they did it on their own, and that's what I'm happy about seeing,” Beckman said.

"The front four, we gave them opportunities to come off the ball and beat somebody. And they did.”
