The timing of this commentary by CNN journalist Fareed Zakaria couldn’t be better, and the man has not just a national but a global following. His portrayal of Oklahoma City is dead-on, and those who attempt to introduce partisan politics into what is and has long been a non-partisan City Hall in Oklahoma City might want to ponder Zakaria’s thoughts on how we’ve gotten as far as we have.
MAPS wasn’t split between Republicans and Democrats. Neither was the unity of this community after the bombing, during the 2007 Centennial celebrations, or at any given win by the Thunder.
Think about it. Are we Republicans and Democrats first, or Americans and Oklahomans first? And under which banners do we get more accomplished?
