Jabee - Definitely in the Right Direction

by Steve Lackmeyer Published: July 21, 2014

I really hope everyone gives a listen to the above and below music videos by local, Emmy-winning musician and artist Jabee. I don’t pretend to be an expert on hip-hop and rap. Over the years I’ve learned to explore unfamiliar art, cultures, food, music and experiences. This means taking my family to the Oklahoma City Ballet this past year (performances I’ll treasure forever), eating strange foods at La Brassa and meeting people from throughout our community.
And then there is Jabee. I first was introduced to Jabee by friend Brian Winkeler after the two collaborated on the great music video “OKC Cool” FOLLOW THIS LINK TO SEE MY POST ON THE SONG AND WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO
I love this song. I loved Jabee’s performance, his words, his spirit. It’s not the music I grew up listening to, but it is definitely entertainment that lifts my spirits, enriches my soul, and quite frankly, makes me feel good.
And that’s a direction I would think we all want to follow. Thanks Jabee for your loyalty to OKC and for all you’ve contributed with your performances, visits to school kids, representation of our city in other locales, and most importantly for me, letting me get a glimpse of what great guy you are.
