A pioneer Oklahoma television newsman known for his smooth voice and high credibility is dead. Jack Ogle was 68 when he died Monday in Sallisaw.
Family members said he had been ill with heart disease.
Ogle moved from WKY Radio to WKY-TV, now KFOR, in the late 1970s, beginning a television news career that lasted 16 years. He was a news anchor and news director.
All three of Ogle's sons - Kelly, Kevin and Kent - have careers in radio and TV broadcasting on local stations.
After his retirement from KFOR, Ogle lived in Sallisaw with his wife, Karen. He moved there to hunt and fish, Kevin Ogle said.
Ogle is survived by three sons, eight grandchildren and his wife.
