AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A panel discussion on the legacy of black baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson in Austin is to be a family affair.

Sharon Robinson, daughter of the man who broke Major League Baseball's color line, and Branch Rickey III, grandson of the man who signed Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers, will participate in a panel discussion after the Austin premiere of the film "42."

The film portrays Robinson's struggles to open doors for African Americans and other non-Caucasians in mainstream baseball. Chadwick Boseman, who stars as Jackie Robinson, also will participate in the Wednesday night panel.

The event at the Paramount Theatre is sponsored by the Texas Program in Sports and Media of the University of Texas at Austin College of Communications.
