RUSTON, La. (AP) — For the second straight week Louisiana Tech freshman guard JaQuan Jackson was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week following her performances in the Lady Techsters three games.
The Killeen, Texas native averaged 11.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in games against Nicholls State, Ole Miss and Louisiana-Lafayette.
Jackson, who earned the same honor the previous week after averaging more than 20 points a game in two contests, scored 18 points in a loss at SEC foe Ole Miss and added 11 points in a win over UL-Lafayette. She also scored six points against Nicholls State.
The 5-foot-8-inch two-guard is the first freshman in Conference USA to earn the honor in consecutive weeks this season.
