Kevin Durant will be profiled on “60 Minutes Sports” at 9 p.m. Wednesday on Showtime.

In the feature, Durant talks with James Brown about his career, his mother who drove him to succeed and his new hometown, Oklahoma City.

In a Q&A with The Oklahoman, Brown discussed the piece and what he learned about Durant, the Thunder and Oklahoma City after making two trips to town to produce the package.

Q: What can you tell us about the piece?

A: (Kevin) clearly is a bona fide superstar that many people may not know a whole lot about other than what he does on the floor. Clearly, many people talk about him being the second best player behind LeBron (James). He's clearly a scorer extraordinaire. … So it's an attempt to showcase the guy and his non-basketball side. But also that which drives him that many people don't know.

What did you learn about him during your visit?

Good personality. Quick-witted. Humorous. Loyal. Has other interests but has them playing second fiddle to the need of not losing sight of the work ethic that has gotten him to this point. In my own words, it would be something like, to not fall victim to working as hard or harder to stay on top as he did to get to the top. As we delve into it, he really comes off as being just what he appears to be, the real deal who is just trying to take full advantage of maximizing his God-given talent.

What do you think the public will learn about Kevin Durant when they see the piece?
