The countdown to National Signing Day is approaching its final month, and there's still a spotlight on the state's top two recruits.

Jenks safety Steven Parker and Douglass defensive end Deondre Clark, respectively Nos. 1 and 2 on The Oklahoman's Super 30, are both planning some January recruiting visits.

Clark has been verbally committed to LSU since late summer, and remains so. Parker has kept his options open. And with Signing Day approaching on Feb. 5, plenty of people will have their eyes on both players — among them, Bob Stoops.

The Oklahoma coach has made a strong push for both players recently.

Steven Parker's father, Steven Sr., told The Oklahoman on Sunday that he feels his son is leaning toward the Sooners.

Clark, 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, said that while LSU remains his primary focus, “Oklahoma has moved up a lot in my recruiting process.”

Stoops made an in-home visit to see Clark last month, and the Sooners have been gaining traction ever since.

Clark plans to use most of his five official visits before Signing Day, with LSU first on the list. And he has a variety of schools lined up for potential trips, including Alabama, USC, Florida and a couple others.

He said he isn't likely to take an official visit to OU, but will make a trip down to Norman at some point.
