Jenks Public Schools works to accomodate Burmese population in south Tulsa Published: July 30, 2014

An influx of Burmese refugees in Tulsa poses special challenges for Jenks Public Schools, but it’s nothing they can’t handle, Tulsa World reports.

“It’s been challenging for some of our teachers, but it’s a challenge that we accept,” said district spokeswoman Bonnie Rogers. “It’s the American dream — to come to America and your life can change.”
