Participate in our Power Lunch chats Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. at NewsOK.com/sports On other professional sports that could be successful in Oklahoma City: Football is the obvious choice because this is a football state, but would fans really be willing to go to college games on Saturday, then pay for pro tickets on Sunday? I'm not sure the entertainment dollar would stretch that far here. Frankly, if OKC didn't have the NBA, I could see the NHL working OK. It's not during football season, for the most part, which I think is a must for a pro sport to work in this state. All in all, I'd say that OKC needs to stick with one pro sport for now. I just don't think the population base or the economic climate is enough to support a second pro team. On what Miami Heat star LeBron James must improve to win an NBA title: A couple things struck me about him -- he doesn't have a good enough outside shot to shoot as many outside shots as he does. It just isn't consistent. If he is going to shoot that many long jumpers and threes, he just has to get better. The other big thing is passivity. There were times, for example, late in Game 6 when the Heat needed a basket. Now. And LeBron looked like he wanted no part of it. Until he gets that killer instinct late in games, he won't reach his full potential. You don't just "get" that. That has to develop over time. The question remains: will LeBron develop it? Only time will tell. On whether Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is better than Thunder star Kevin Durant: Right now, I'd say yes. He's more seasoned than KD. He has felt the pain of playoff losses and he has allowed that to motivate him to get better. I truly believe that once Durant has that seasoning, he'll be as good as any player in the league. He has that kind of drive that is fueled by what happened to the Thunder this year. KD will also continue to develop his game. Right now, Dirk's arsenal is bigger than KD's, but I think in time, KD will have all the moves and abilities that he needs.
