The Q&A with former OSU tight end Billy Bajema

Jenni Carlson: You just finished a two-day youth football camp with a couple other local NFL players, Chris Chamberlain and Nick Graham. Is this the first time you've done anything like this?
Billy Bajema: Yeah, it is. Chris and I started working out together last off-season. We started talking about having a camp and found out that the NFL will do a grant if you have a camp for kids for free. We went through that process, and then we teamed up with FCA. We're able to provide a free camp for these kids and hopefully provide a positive influence in their lives.
JC: How did you figure out how you wanted to structure the camp?
BB: We just wanted the camp to be fun. We didn't want it to be a deal where they're going through position drills all day long and not having fun. So ... we had little mini NFL combines where we tested them in their 40s and broad jump. We had sheets of printouts of all that stuff.
JC: Any future Billy Bajemas or Chris Chamberlains out there?
BB: Oh, yeah. We had some good athletes out there. Some of those kids were running good times.
JC: I didn't realize until I was reading your NFL bio that Oklahoma City is your home in the off-season.
BB: I got married after my rookie year, and the next off-season we found a place in Edmond. We love Oklahoma and we want to eventually make it our full-time home.
