Jodie Foster's dad convicted in scheme

LOS ANGELES — A judge has sentenced Jodie Foster 's estranged father to five years in a Los Angeles jail for bilking more than $100,000 from poor and elderly people in a homebuilding scheme.

City attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said Lucius Foster was sentenced Dec. 9, two days after he was convicted of 21 misdemeanor counts of grand theft.
