HAWK John Albert of California passed away May 18, 1999. He was 47 yrs.old. He was born Feb.12, 1952 in Clinton, OK to James Hawk and Edna Starr Hawk. Mr. Hawk was in the U.S. Army & was a Vietnam veteran. He was a local artist in Indian Art. He was also an active member of the Cheyenne Arapaho Sundance. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the home; mother, Edna Hawk of OKC, father, James Hawk of OKC; daughters, Sonja Hawk of CA and Victoria Hawk of Washington; sons, John Hawk, Paul Hawk and Quinton Hawk of CA & David Hawk of Washington; brothers, Robert Hawk of Edmond, Billy Ray Hawk of Enid; sisters, Julia Kay Rodriques, Donna Grace West, Lynn Hawk & Christine Anne Hawk, all of OKC, & Norma Jean Wolf of Dallas, TX. His brother, James Hawk Jr. & two sisters, Beulah May Wilson & Denise Jan Hawk, preceded him in death. Our Son, our Brother, our Father. You are now one with Nakua, our Earth, we will see you in the sunlight, hear you in the wind, & feel you in the rain. Your soul has been freed to be with our sisters and our brother that you have missed so. We are bound together forever by our blood. We will wait for the day we will all see one another again. A wake service will be held at the First Indian Church of the Nazarene, Tuesday night, May 25. Funeral services will be held at the First Indian Church of the Nazarene, 2:00 p.m., Wed., May 26, with Pastor Wayne Stark officiating. Interment to follow at the Concho Indian Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel.
