John Kerry: Protester’s interruption ‘a good exclamation point to my testimony’

When a protester apparently affiliated with Code Pink interrupted Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., as he concluded his opening statement at his Secretary of State nomination hearing, it didn’t bother him at all.

“People measure what we do and in a way that’s a good exclamation point to my testimony,” Kerry told the Senate Intelligence Committee after the woman was removed from the room.

Code Pink calls for peace with Iran — the group will “continue to oppose the crippling sanctions” on the country — and the arrest of “war criminals” in the Bush and Obama administrations.

Kerry recalled that he first testified before Congress as part of a protest against the Vietnam war.
