Noteworthy: Strong finish by Cornhuskers gets them back into bowl season after missing last year.
Gaylord Music City Nashville Dec. 31, 2:30 p.m. Wake Forest vs. Kentucky
Noteworthy: Two anemic offenses do battle — Wake Forest at No. 101 and Kentucky at No. 102.
Insight Phoenix Dec. 31, 4:30 p.m. Kansas vs. Minnesota
Noteworthy: Last season seems like a century ago in many respects for the slumping Jayhawks.
Chick-fil-A Atlanta Dec. 31, 6:30 p.m. Mississippi vs. North Carolina
Noteworthy: Two outstanding turnarounds performed under coaches Houston Nutt and Butch Davis.
Outback Tampa Jan. 1, 10 a.m. Michigan State vs. South Carolina
Noteworthy: Notice the start time the morning after New Year’s Eve. Hit the snooze button on this one.
Capital One Orlando Jan. 1, noon LSU vs. Ohio State
Noteworthy: Anyone want a rematch of last year’s title game? Tough, you’re going to get it anyway.

Gator Jacksonville, Fla. Jan. 1, noon Notre Dame vs. Georgia Tech
Noteworthy: How sad is it when a poor Notre Dame team is chosen for such a fine bowl game?
Cotton Dallas Jan. 2, 1 p.m. Texas vs. Georgia

Liberty Memphis, Tenn. Jan. 2, 4 p.m. Tulsa vs. Vanderbilt

BCS bowls

Sugar New Orleans Jan. 2, 7 p.m. Alabama vs. USC
Noteworthy : Two second-place teams and two of college football’s greatest traditional powers meet in what could be a Sugar Bowl Classic on the game’s 75{+t}{+h} anniversary. Alabama leads series 5-2.
Rose Pasadena, Calif. Jan. 1, 3:30 p.m. Oregon State vs. Penn State.
Noteworthy: You have to love it when the Rose Bowl gets burned. The Beavers hang on to claim the Pacific 10 title, setting up a rematch of the Sept. 6 game which the Nittany Lions won 45-14.
Orange Miami Jan. 1, 7:30 p.m. Florida State vs. Cincinnati
Noteworthy: The Seminoles win the crazy ACC with a victory at Maryland, helping out the gate in Miami. The question surrounding Cincinnati: Will Brian Kelly still be its coach at game time?
Fiesta Glendale, Ariz. Jan. 5, 7 p.m. Texas Tech vs. Utah
Noteworthy: This one could end around midnight with all the passes thrown. Oklahoma failed to represent the Big 12 proudly in back-to-back Fiesta Bowls, but the Red Raiders will bury the Utes.
National Championship Miami Jan. 8, 7 p.m. Florida vs. Oklahoma
Noteworthy: If this matchup indeed transpires, the two hottest teams in America will play for the crown, which is how it should be. Coach Bob Stoops gets to face his previous employer.

Wow! OU bandwagon fans unite, right here on this comment board. Bandwagon fans are the most worthless scum there are. Get on message boards and bash other fans because they don't root for your team. Get a life.

I guess he doesn't know that if Texas is in the top 4 of the BCS rankings they are guaranteed a spot. Thus, Texas not TT would be in the Fiesta Bowl.

Rhode sounds like homer again...Texas number one in this mornings Sagrin OU 4th a big portion in BCS Computer Ratings. OU best chance might be to win out and have Texas lose in Big 12 Champ game.

Texas gets the Fiesta Bowl and probably plays Utah, Boise St or Ohio State. I think Oregon beats Oregon state and USC plays Penn St. in the Rose Bowl. I would real
Thomas, Oklahoma City - Nov 23, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Phil in Guthrie. I think you mean the OSUcks Cowgirls will be 9-3 and headed to the Holiday Bowl. The Sooners will walk into Nose Pickin' stadium and hand the Cowgirls their butts. Keep talking trash it only makes the victory that much sweeter.
Thomas, Oklahoma City - Nov 23, 2008 at 2:58 pm
Vandy in Memphis is NOT A home game for Vandy. Fan support for for Vandy 30+miles out of Nashville is spotty at best. I lived in Memphis for 6 years and the Commodores fan base was, shall we say, "extremely subtle." Tulsa fans have the chance for a great trip (BBQ Shop on Madison in midtown is non-touristy and a MUST), AND the chance to have the #'s in the Liberty Bowl. I live in NC and will be in the stadium when Vandy comes to Wake Forest next week. If any facts have changed about the travel habits of Vandy fans, as Sarah Palin might say, "I'll bring 'em to ya."

Guess after the game tonight some of these posters will have a different outlook. I do agree that OU has a good chance if they win handily at OSU and I have faith they can beat Mizzou again. I just hope that they will be prepared against a team like Florida and we can stop these stupid bowl losses. I don't agree with the TU TT predictions tho. I could see TT going to the Cotton before TU.

9-3? Not so fast. Doubt will creep into the minds of OSU fans for the rest of this week after seeing an OU dominate the team that dominated OSU. Granted next week there will not be a blowout like either of the last 2 relevant games (Tech-OSU, OU-Tech) but OU will eventaully prevail by double digits. Mark it down.

ROFLMAO!!!! Took a really deep toke off that crack pipe this time huh Rohde? How can the gooners play for the National Championship when they will be 9-3 on Nov 30? Talk about reaching for the moon! I laughed so hard I about passed out when I read your predictions!

ROTFLMAO! Do come back when this list blows up in your face. Still a lot of ball to be played. No team is safe or decided. OU has at least 2 big games left. 3 games if they get past either of the first 2...not counting my eggs before they hatch this year. I'm sure that they can beat Mizzou but not convinced on tonight or next week...yet. I'll feel better after tonight is behind us but next week is no gimmee either!

Will Rohde wake up from his favorite dream today? God, let's hope so. Rohde, the OU toady needs a big dose of reality. No one in any OKC media outlet (especially not this Stoops kissin' paper) give Texas Tech a chance. It's time for Leach to teach his former boss another lesson in how to win a big game (something Stoops has trouble with -- hence the Swooners moniker) before The Mad Pirate moves on to oranger pastures at Tennessee. One more kick in the teeth to the hacks at this paper and Swooner fans everywhere. Still...Texas has the butt-kickin' at the Cotton Bowl hanging over the Swooners head. Go Tech. Go Horns.
Danny, Vail - Nov 22, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Rob, my friend, you're suppose to refute our statements with some facts..... ok, then do what Mr Randy says "and WATCH THE GAME!" Am really hoping to be wrong, see our staff revert back to their previous successes (2000 season- Holiday Bowl v Oregon in Wilson's first game as OC), not continually run the dive play on first down and blunder into such fiascos as the totally inept call to fake the punt v UT, which was the white flag of surrender even if it worked on that series. But, am told the money in Vegas is going to Tech and the points. Tech outright is the third highest wagered amount. I won't call you names, because you won't go look them up to know what they mean. Go OU, get lucky, get some refs and get some coconuts for a change!
David, Frisco - Nov 22, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Why don't all you OSU homers so jealous with envy of a great football tradition just shut up. First prove it on the field before you do your talking.

So OU beats Tech and Tech still gets a BCS? How does Texas fall out of the BCS? I guess something similar to the MU/KU debacle from last year? Not sure about your logic here Rhode, but then again you don't get paid for your smarts......

You are thinking way too highly of Florida State, John. It may happen only because the ACC is a very average conference.
keith, jacksonville - Nov 22, 2008 at 11:09 am
LOL- Jo appears to see through the Wizard of OU's screen! Yes, I know it's better than the Howard and Blake years, but Sponge Bob has become a different coach than he was at the start of our journey. No imagination, very poor leadership (we play starters deep into blow outs-then they get hurt and we have no one ready on a talent laden squad). If we pull a UT trick, the refs will save us today, but then SBBF and Co. will lay an egg in either Stillwater or the Big 12 title game. Or worse still, we get into the NC game and STINK IT UP! Even if we win out, the voters are going to punish us for our previous Bowl Flops. UT will be higher ranked in the BCS, as writers around the country know what our local yokels will/can not say SPONGE BOB BOWL FLOP is our leader. Long live Sponge Bob, he's better than Howard and Blake. Yippee
David, Frisco - Nov 22, 2008 at 10:47 am
Rohde, dude, what have you been smok'in. In last weeks Poll article, you made comment about Kansas and Missouri being beaten by OU and OU was ranked lower. They didn't play Kansas last year. Dude kickback, take another hit, mellow "Dog", you tha man! Now put this in your pipe, Ou ain't goin to no NC. We the fans are calling out Stoops'y to "get'er done" and he will be a "no-show" in either T.T., OSU, or both. "Stoop Dog" is putting his contract above the program, covering squares for extra money, not stepp'in up like he did when he first started. He has to "Gang Bang" the other team at the start cause he got no "D". Like I say, he called us out, he be the one that needs to be gett'in the "Show-up" time. He needs to be puch'in the money maker and gett'in in the groove, taken on that "blue-collar" swagger that he was known for, the work'in mans friend, street cred.
