JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania doctor wanted for health care fraud and income tax charges has been arrested in Panama and will be returned for prosecution by federal authorities in Johnstown.

WJAC-TV (http://bit.ly/1hBiva4 ) reports Dr. William Acosta was arrested last month.

Online court documents show he was charged in early 2008, more than a year after authorities say he moved to the Dominican Republic where he continued to practice as a neurologist at a hospital there.

Online court documents don't list an attorney for Acosta.

But the charges say he overbilled insurance companies for services not rendered, then didn't report the income he received as a result.

He remains incarcerated after appearing before a federal magistrate in New Jersey, who processed Acosta's return to the country.

It's expected he'll make a western Pennsylvania court appearance next week.
