Oklahoma City has lost one of its players before the season ever began.

Goalkeeper Jon Kempin, who was on loan from Sporting Kansas City has been recalled by the MLS team, Kansas City announced on Wednesday.  The 20-year old keeper had only been in Oklahoma City for a couple of weeks and said after practice on Tuesday that he was really excited to be part of a team going into its inaugural season.

Energy FC begins that campaign on Saturday in Irvine, California when they take on Orange County. Kempin will be available for Oklahoma City’s second game two days later against the Los Angeles Galaxy II. Sporting Kansas City’s goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum is listed as questionable for Saturday’s match against Real Salt Lake.

Oklahoma City has two other goalkeepers on their roster. Samir Badr, who played the most minutes during the preseason and Jennings Clark, a Norman native.
