It’s Tuesday so that means the United Soccer League’s Pro Division Team of the Week. And for the first week since Energy FC began its season, OKC does not have a player on the team.

However, Jon Kempin did make the honorable mention list. Kempin is in California this week training with the Under-21 US Men’s National Team which 10 out of 10 soccer fans would agree is better than making the league’s honorable mention team of the week.

But nonetheless Kempin made the team. Kempin played all 90 minutes in goal for Oklahoma City last Tuesday in a match with FC Dallas’ Reserve team allowing one goal. He came up with a couple of big saves to keep Energy FC in the game, unfortunately the offense couldn’t convert on its chances and Dallas won 1-0.

Kempin returns from the US Men’s National team training camp on Thursday and will be available for Saturday’s match against the defending USL Pro champion Orlando City, where Kempin played last year.
