MIAMI (AP) — For James Jones, next season is already here.
The Miami Heat guard may be in position to get more minutes this coming season, after the team decided to designate sharpshooter Mike Miller as its amnesty player. However, Jones says he isn't counting on having an expanded role.
He's getting ready to compete for one, just in case. Jones says he's working diligently on improving strength and stamina, and that's he's looking forward to the competition of a training camp that's only two months away.
Jones played in only 38 games for the Heat this past season, logging more than 10 minutes only six times.
