Tuttle followed with its third scoring drive. Jobe connected on two pass plays before Gregory rushed for an 18-yard touchdown, his third score of the game, cutting Jones' lead to 21-19.

The two teams played the second half to a stalemate. However, after 28 minutes of penalties, turnovers and stuffed runs, Tuttle received the ball with 2:03 remaining and a chance to win.

Tuttle reached Jones' 27-yard line, but after a long sack, was forced into a long, game-winning field goal attempt. Kicker Ty Stonebraker missed from 50 yards out and Jones had its third District 3A-1 win.

“This was huge,” Jones coach Dave Martin said after the win. We had a slow start to the season and we talked to our kids about just worrying about district. Right now we're in that battle and we are going to keep going after it next week.”

Jones moves to 4-4 with the win and 3-1 in District 3A-1. The Longhorns will host Little Axe on Nov. 1. Tuttle moves to 6-2 and 3-1 in District 3A-1. The Tigers look to bounce back at Mount St. Mary on Nov. 1.
