Josh Valentine Want You to Love Pork His Way

by Dave Cathey Published: July 16, 2013

As if  mild summer weather didn’t make this Thursday’s “Open Flame” at American Propane a can’t-miss occasion, it will also be a chance to meet recent “Top Chef’” contestant Josh Valentine at a celebration of the protein he loves enough to make his Twitter handle: pork.

Valentine, aka chefporkbelly, finished third on Bravo’s most reason season of the hit cooking show “Top Chef,” but perhaps his greatest challenge will be propping up yours truly as we attack pork in the circle of fire at 6 p.m. on Thursday at American Propane, 7401 N Broadway Extension. This will be your chance to check out the flavors of chef Valentine before he teams with Kevin George to open The George Prime Steakhouse on top of Founders Tower.

Josh will spin pork tenderloin into some kind of magic, while I tackle pork shoulder. Chef Jermiah Duddleston of Uptown Grocery Co. will join in on the fun, too. for Open Flame at American Propane, 7401 N Broadway Extension.

Cost is $50, which includes the class and more pork than any human could eat and beverages. Call American Propane at 843-6868 to reserve your seat. If you’ve never been to “Open Flame” check out the video above to see what the event is all about and learn a little bit about an other vital pork product, ribs.

Hope to see you there.
