Judges announced for tree photo contest in Norman

A panel of judges has been named for the annual Oklahoma Tree Photo Contest sponsored by the Norman Parks Foundation.

The Norman Parks Foundation has announced its judges for the Oklahoma Tree Photo Contest.

Entries are due Nov. 5 at Legend's Times Two, 1333 W Lindsey St. Awards totaling $3,000 will be presented at the contest reception set for 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at First Fidelity Bank, Main Street and Peters Avenue.

Judging this year's entries will be Bob Goins, Charles Rushton, Steve Sisney, Victor Youritzen and Shevaun Williams.

Goins holds bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture and regional and city planning. He is a University of Oklahoma professor emeritus and author of several books.

Rushton has presented free photography workshops for the Norman Parks Foundation and has taught photography at the Moore Norman Technology Center and the Firehouse Art Center.

Sisney has been a staff photographer for The Oklahoman since 1987. He also has worked for other newspapers and has done freelance work. He is the winner of numerous awards for his photography.

Youritzen, a David Ross Boyd professor of fine arts at OU, is a prizewinning photographer. He was a Ford Foundation Fellow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and taught at Vanderbilt and Tulane universities before joining the OU faculty in 1972.

Williams is a professional photographer with a studio in Norman. She has won numerous awards for her work.
