STILLWATER — When Oklahoma State tailback Keith Toston doesn't feel like he can run another wind sprint or lift another weight or go through another drill in practice, he looks down at his left wrist.

Your thoughts!
Thank you all for you insightful comments. It's a good thing the Cowboys have folks like you to clue them in: here they were thinking that all they had to do was slap on a bracelet, and the Big 12 would deliver the championship trophy to Stillwater without them having to play a single game... Thanks for correcting them.
(for those of you too dumb-headed i.e. Carl, I hope you can pick up on my sarcasm)
adam, broken arrow - Aug 8, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Its going to take more than a bracelet for Okie state to win.
Carl, Norman - Aug 8, 2008 at 6:17 am
Well, this article brought out the usual uo loonies didn't it. There is a certain element out there that tries to use athletic teams to replace what's missing in their lives. They tend to feel threatened and swarm like flies to articles like this one. When you feel compelled to constantly read, monitor and respond to another teams newspaper articles, you need help and a life.
ROBERT, TULSA - Aug 7, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Keep in mind, OSU fans, the loser OU bandwagon fans like Jeff are starting to come out. It is August and they are ready to use their hard-earned money on those OU season-tickets.
Jacob, Kansas - Aug 5, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Cool, well OSU will be working on building up that type of team. Thanks for the support on the OSU articles. We can tell you care way to much about OSU. Keep it up, Jeffery. Remember, you are the one coming over to OSU articles and trying to make yourself feel better. Run along now, kiddo.
Jacob, Kansas - Aug 5, 2008 at 5:36 pm
tu, Oklahoma City - Aug 5, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Thanks Jacob...but you have to get to a BCS game to even have the chance to lose...the only way OSU will get to a BCS game is if Boone Pickens buys them all tickets...
Jeff, Moore - Aug 5, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Good one Jeff. Man you are original. I am reminded of the Infinite Sooner Theory...if a million OU fans went to a million games, only 1,000 of those fans would have successfully graduated from OU. On a side note, I would worry about embarrassing yourselves again on the national stage before I worry about OSU.
Jacob, Kansas - Aug 5, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I am reminded of the Infinite Monkey Theorem...if a million O-State players, play a million games in a million stadiums perhaps they can win a Big12 conference championship...but they would be more realistic if they went back to the Missouri Valley Conference...
Jeff, Moore - Aug 5, 2008 at 3:33 pm
That's ok, OU fans. Talk big, and maybe you can go for 3 bowl losses in a row....
Jerry, Edmond - Aug 5, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Meant to write 13 year old girl...
OSU fan, Tulsa - Aug 4, 2008 at 6:24 pm
Wow Joe, your OU education is something you should be really proud of. Nice use of puncuation. If you want people to take you seriously, try not calling people dorks and freaks. That's how 13 year old years talk.
OSU fan, Tulsa - Aug 4, 2008 at 6:14 pm
gape sesh, scat play, the writers for this paper are all volunteers right? i mean no one at the oklahoman actually gets paid right?
tu, Oklahoma City - Aug 4, 2008 at 4:46 pm
Sheryl and Steve, The date on the bracelet is 12/06/08. The sportswriter for the Oklahoman made the mistake, not the Cowboys. If you doubt me, go to enidnews.com and check out their story. There are other examples, but you will have to Google it yourself.
Mike , San Antonio - Aug 4, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Please read this article. Proves the Oklahoman is such a biased OU newspaper that it tries to make OSU look like an ignorant university, when in fact, they make themselves look like idiots. Thank you, have a nice day. http://www.muskogeephoenix.com/sports/local_story_215230022.html
Nick, Oklahoma City - Aug 4, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Isn't 12-8-08 a Monday? You'd think they would have at least looked up when the Big XII title game was (12-6-08).
Steve, Tulsa - Aug 4, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Nothing wrong with setting lofty goals. Most of ou know that they're right, most players and most fans don't even put championship on the radar. We're just so used to it not being a reachable goal that we don't give it as much consideration. If it's not even on the radar though, it will never happen! I would suppose all you OU fans are scared now that Pokes are doing more and more to knock you guys down a notch or two. It may take some cultural change in Stillwater, but at least that has begun and you can't harp on them for that.
AC, Tulsa - Aug 4, 2008 at 1:27 pm
I wish it were only that simple, CJ.
Go Pokes!
Mark, Skikda, Algeria - Aug 4, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Bracelets, how cute. To see actual championship trophies, head down I-35 to the switzer center.
Gary, Oklahoma City - Aug 4, 2008 at 12:18 pm
I uhgree wit yu Michale. I gradyouateed from OSU wit Dextur Manlee and wi hate it win theees OU fans make fun of uz. Letz ignoor dem an dey will gow uhway.
JJ, Okc - Aug 4, 2008 at 12:08 pm
How many of you who posted on here actually graduated from OU? It is the uneducated fans who are post here just ignore them.
michael, trophy Club - Aug 4, 2008 at 9:42 am
If someone sets their goals low, they will perform at a low level. You have to set your sights high to accomplish anything worthwhile. These Cowboys have the right idea and attitude. It will be fun to watch them this year. Go POKES!
NN, Tulsa - Aug 4, 2008 at 9:39 am
I want to get some of those bracelets so every time I feel down I can look at them and I can laugh until I cry. OSU should set their sights on finishing with a winning record first, then try to win the south, and then tackle trying to win the entire Big XII. But hey, since none of those things will happen I guess it's ok to let them dream.
JJ, Okc - Aug 4, 2008 at 9:21 am
Joe, based on your comment below, I can tell you went to and graduated from OU. You certainly display the attributes of an OU graduate. Thanks for showing up. I hope you continue to come and post on OSU articles, it just shows what that OU education will do to you. Thanks again for your time.
Jacob, Kansas - Aug 4, 2008 at 8:34 am
I love how there were OU fans commenting on this story before 5AM when it was released. Seriously??? I think some of you have a serious obsession with OSU and trying to make yourselves feel bigger by ridiculing OSU and their fans. This is the very reason that I will find it difficult to EVER cheer for OU. This story is simply about a group of young men who are trying to rally around a cause and put forth the hardwork to try and accomplish a lofty goal. Why is that so hard to believe? Is a championship not the goal of every team everywhere? And really, who cares whether you did or did not get a degree for your favorite school? But why would you ridicule someone based upon where they get their degree when you don't even have a degree? Class - it's completely absent from these forums and from so many college athletics fans - it's really quite sad.
Nathan, Broken Bow - Aug 4, 2008 at 8:20 am
Very original Jacob. Sorry, once again, your a loser (you're used to it though I'm sure). Graduated w/ bachelors in Finance from OU in '98. Currently getting masters in BA, so try another one dork! And just so you know Joe is my name and just so you know, there are more than a few people with the name Joe.
ALL AGGIES ARE JUST GOAT-HERDERS WHO COULDN'T GET INTO OU. Sorry ladies!!! WAAAA, WAAAA
Joe, Oklahoma City - Aug 4, 2008 at 8:01 am
Joe, thanks for taking the time to respond to me. Now, let's talk about your life. Do you base it on how many football games OU wins? If you answered "yes" to this question, you like every other loser OU poster on here, never attended OU. Smyrna sucks, who is the bigger douche? Me or you who makes his name after an OSU poster on an online paper message board. Get back to me when you get back to the library to post again.
Jacob, Kansas - Aug 3, 2008 at 11:37 pm
Hey JOE in OKC: Did you go to college? Just curious. And, by the way Francis Tuttle doesn't count.
Jonathon, Panhandle - Aug 3, 2008 at 11:24 pm
those bracelets would really look good with an orange tu-tu. come on, it's going to take a lot more than bracelets to change years of losing. sounds like something an amway salesman would try to sell you.
mark, amarillo - Aug 3, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Tim I was talkin to Richard. He lives in Stillwater. Oklahoma is called the Sooner State. For me the bar that Gundy has to achieve this year is either beat OU or beat Texas. If OSU can do either one is a successful season for me. As far was Win/Loss column 8-4 is fine. anything over that is good.
Billy, Ponca City - Aug 3, 2008 at 10:08 pm
So... what's say you Gundy Goon's go ahead and put your money where your mouths are... let's go ahead set the bar at the championship... win it or Gundy's OUT! Demand it. Agreed? ------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought not.
richard, Stillwater - Aug 3, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Who lives in cowboy country? This will ALWAYS be "The Sooner State".
Tim, lawton - Aug 3, 2008 at 9:04 pm
Hey Sheryl, OSU's offense finished 7th in the nation last year. They might not have been the "worlds greatest" but that is pretty damn good. And a lot better than OU's. And Dick from Stillwater, 9 wins can still win the Big XII.
Kevin, Houston - Aug 3, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Jacob, you are such a douche
Jacob in kansas, mynewbff - Aug 3, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Richard do you even know where you live at? You are in Cowboy Country. As far as winning the Big 12 South, that is a goal of OSU.In fact, it is a goal of every Big 12 South team.If any team from the Big 12 South can make it through the conference schedule, particular the South, they have tremendous chance of winning the Big 12 Championship. Moreover, if they accomplish that feat, they have a good chance of playing for the National Title. OSU has the same chance as any other team in the South to win the Big 12 Championship. What remains to be seen is how the season plays out.
Billy, Ponca City - Aug 3, 2008 at 8:04 pm
You know, I've always rooted for both schools.... I've grown up an OU and an OSU fan. I'm 34 years old now, and everytime I'm around an OU fan I am more and more proud to root for the cowboys. You "proud" OU grads make me wanna barf. You never miss a chance to throw rocks at the Cowboys, and for what? Grins and giggles? Grow up. I'm excited when either team does well, but the arrogance and thoughtless drivel of the Sooners is starting to wear on me. Seriously, grow up.
Jerrod, Altus - Aug 3, 2008 at 7:34 pm
The "team and school" SHOULD be bigger than Gundy too, Mike. That's the only beef I have, it's not. If it were, Gundy would have never gotten the job to begin with.
richard, Stillwater - Aug 3, 2008 at 6:25 pm
"Richard, if OSU ends with 9 wins will you be on here apologizing for the senseless amount of drivel you've subjected us all to?" - Mike, Tulsa -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9 wins? LOL! What happened to winning the Big 12? You Gundy Goons are amazing. It doesn't matter how far you have to lower the bar to keep Gundy. You're willing to accept losses to SunBelt mid-majors, accept 6-6 seasons as "improvement" over 6-6, or see the program dragged to any depth just to hang onto your boy. I'm not apologizing for anything. 9 wins is what Gundy should have had his first year when he inherited 15 starters from a Alamo Bowl team... instead he finished dead last behind Baylor.
richard, Stillwater - Aug 3, 2008 at 6:19 pm
Sounds like a bunch of little girls.
Arron, Holdenville - Aug 3, 2008 at 5:51 pm
Great idea, but with a very loaded Big 12 this year, not going to happen. The south has WAY to much talent this year. If OSU was in the north they might stand a chance every few years to at least play in the Big 12. But that wouldn't work this year with Missouri and even Kansas. OU has a NC on their list of goals, but a Big 12 championship is good too.
Jess, Warr Acres - Aug 3, 2008 at 4:45 pm
Jacob. You're a fool!!! Shut up and get back to milking cows!!! You wish you went to OU just like every other OSU freak!!! I love how OSU fan's try and bash OU fans by talking about whether they went to school there or not!!! That's so funny even your own president (Hargis) said it's sad that OSU fans think that's a negative thing when, in reality, it's what every team / school wishes they had!!!! What a fool Jacob!!!
Joe, Oklahoma City - Aug 3, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Now I've heard it all!!!! OSU thinks they can win a Big 12 champoionship... Did Hell freeze over!!!! This bracelet thing is something you'd expect from a high school team!!! Further proof that Aggies just don't know what it takes to win a champoinship!!! Let me help you dorks... It called winning games and actually playing defense!!!! And no, you didn't improve your D this year. If it was that easy why didn't it happen years ago???? 6-6 once again!!!
Joe, Oklahoma City - Aug 3, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Of course the OU loser fans show up to this article. Let's take a poll, how many of you OU posters graduated from OU? Heck, how many of you graduated from college at all?
Jacob, Kansas - Aug 3, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Richard, if OSU ends with 9 wins will you be on here apologizing for the senseless amount of drivel you've subjected us all to? There are enough OU bashing clowns on OSU threads as it is. How about for once you act like an actual fan and remember that the team and school are bigger than your ridiculous beef with the head coach.
Mike, tulsa - Aug 3, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Uh, I'm confused. The Big 12 Championship game is December 6th, not the 8th. This is going to come back to bite them like their self-advertised "World's Greatest Offense" theme last year. Why set yourself up for failure?
Sheryl, Oklahoma City - Aug 3, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Oh! OK, Mark! So you're predicting, expecting, and demanding this championship... your, "orange stampede"(as you put it)... right? If so, GREAT! Don't make excuses. If not, shut up.
richard, Stillwater - Aug 3, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Not saying it cant be done but I would temper my chmpnshp aspirations if I was an osu fan or player. OU proved in 2000 and Ohio St in 2002 that you can go from being average (both 7-5 the year before) to winning a ntnl chmpnshp. Unfortunately for osu they have a brutal conference road schedule and most unfortunately they are not ou or ohio st. The cowboys have shown me nothing to believe that they are ready to even compete for conference chmpnshps. good luck in '08 though.
jordan, the woodlands - Aug 3, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Here is but one more bits of evidence of the collective Sewerner fear of the coming Orange Stampede....of the 15 posts before this one, 10 are uo "never has been, so never can be, I hope to goodness not" posts, 2 are from the moron richard who claims to be an O-State supporter but really just has an axe to grind with Gundy and never posts anything positive about O-State, and one whose one-word post can't be classified either way and contributes nothing to the discussion (as if any of the other 12 do)....versus two posts from real Cowboy fans. Sewerner fear manifests itself in having to beat their chests on a public forums that have not one thing to do with uo. But O-State is not their rival.....so they say. hahahahahahaha Sewerner Nashun remember: Any sucker, anywhere. You look like suckers to me. This time anywhere is Our House, November 29th.
Mark, Skikda, Algeria - Aug 3, 2008 at 11:43 am
I wouldn't expect Gundy to win a Championship this year because he's got no heat on him. He's got one more year do go before he finds himself in Deep Sh-t. If he wins 7 regular season games and goes to a crummy bowl, Holder will probably give him a raise and a long term extension on his contract. E.I.E.I.O!
John - Aug 3, 2008 at 10:12 am
Don't just throw a few chips down like it's a real raise, Gundy. Don't ONLY preach it to your players. Be consistant. Tell the fans to EXPECT it. Tell the world. Man up (you're 40); go ALL IN. No excuses.
richard, Stillwater - Aug 3, 2008 at 9:22 am
So Gundy won't mind if all of us fans jump on the championship bandwagon and EXPECT and DEMAND that championship THIS year???? Some how I still get the feeling he still much prefers we fans just sticking to only wishing for some sign of "improvement".
richard, Stillwater - Aug 3, 2008 at 9:16 am
Zero-U pinheads are shaking in their boots. Your vitriol is a compliment. Go Pokes!
Jay, Moore - Aug 3, 2008 at 8:52 am
They are going to need more than a bracelet, A lot more.
Duane, Oklahoma City, Ok. - Aug 3, 2008 at 8:50 am
Bahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! Come on, OSU. Other than golf and wrestling, what have you won a championship at? I count 3 national championships in your trophy case, the latest in 1959, in sports that more than 500 people come watch.
Joe, Norman - Aug 3, 2008 at 8:30 am
"OSU and champs, that makes me laugh". Since OSU has more NCAA National Championships than OU, and in fact has more than all but just a few athletic programs in D1 college football, you must be laughing all the time. I'm glad OSU sports has made your life so enjoyable.
You guys must be a little nervous (and worried) - as OU fans posting such drivel on an OSU article.
Steve, Texarkana - Aug 3, 2008 at 7:58 am
FUNNIEST ARTICLE THAT I HAVE EVER READ.
Carl, Norman - Aug 3, 2008 at 7:31 am
osu and champs! that makes me laugh, no way in heck this story should have been printed and posted on the net, give all of us a break, T. Boone can't buy championships. osu=animal husbandry at its finest
Jacob in kansas, mynewbff - Aug 3, 2008 at 4:21 am
I'm a cowboy and proud of it... last March I sat with the OU section at the NCAA wrestling tournament and had a great time.... they weren't anything like you OU wantabe's who couldn't pass the entrance exam...
Roy, Spavinaw - Aug 3, 2008 at 4:14 am
this is the funniest thing i have read in years.
Jacob in kansas, mynewbff - Aug 3, 2008 at 4:04 am
OSU is losing their low sports to OU.
kelly, dallas - Aug 3, 2008 at 3:19 am
OSU lost to OU in wrestling? Ouch! what's next golf? Here we come.
kelly, dallas - Aug 3, 2008 at 3:18 am
