Last week, the owners of the Jacksonville Jaguars hinted that the team was through with former Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon.

On Tuesday, the writing was just about as on the wall as could be, as the Jags assigned Blackmon's locker to undrafted free-agent quarterback Stephen Morris.

Blackmon was pretty much ruled out for a return this season by the Jags' front office. He's still suspended indefinitely by the NFL for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy in 2013.

If he is in fact reinstated, it doesn't look like he's going to be playing with Jacksonville. The club that selected him No. 5 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft has spoken as if Blackmon's time in done.

"I think it's an absolute tragedy. ... I think he's such a talented guy," Jaguars owner Shan Khan said, via ESPN.com. "The best years (are) ahead of him but after a while, it's out of your control."
