And then there's …

A string of strong recruiting classes is revealing more competition and more potential impact players for the Cowboys.


Here are a few more players primed for a breakthrough or breakout:

* Daytawion Lowe. After playing in 11 games as a freshman, the safety was on the verge of a breakout last year when a preseason shoulder injury knocked him out. After redshirting, Lowe is on the verge again.

* Michael Bowie. The Cowboys return their offensive line intact, but this junior college transfer wasn't brought in to sit and watch. He'll push to start at some point this season.

* Ryan Robinson. With Richetti Jones and Jamie Blatnik, the Cowboys are set at defensive end. But Robinson will help, maybe most as a third-down pass rush specialist.

* David Glidden/Josh Stewart. This isn't a great time for freshmen wideouts to break in, but these guys might have something to offer as inside receivers.
