If you catch a glimpse of someone waving a poster of a sexy super-model at Lloyd Noble Center during a basketball game - thank Coach Kelvin Sampson.
The University of Oklahoma basketball coach is the real reason behind those oozing photos.
Assistant coach Bobby Champagne explained the strategy.
It is all part of the antics of Kelvin's Krew, a 35-member student group of hoops rowdies who sit on the floor behind the goal and make noise.
They try to distract opposing free-throw shooters, he said.
When the other team shoots a free throw someone waves a picture of a woman in a bikini.
If that doesn't work, they flip it around and show a bare-chested man.
And if the shooter can still concentrate? ... They bring out the big gun, a photo of radio personality Al Eschbach.
Kelvin's Krew members paint their faces, wave or read newspapers when the other team is introduced and try to create a competitive atmosphere, Champagne said.
Before games, Sampson will give the Krew a scouting report about the opposing team so heckling strategies can be planned, Champagne said. BIOG: NAME:Archive ID: 599558
