Ken 2.0: Now 10 percent lighter

After losing five pounds in a week, Ken's weight loss total is 31 pounds, roughly 10 percent less than on April 1.

I also like to think of these physical items springing out of my body and onto that table. I watch myself shrinking at the same rate that the table grows cluttered.

Sounds gross, huh? Maybe it is. But I feel a sense of accomplishment when I picture that table filling up with coins or soft drinks or books or kittens or anything else that adds up to 31 pounds. That's not in me anymore, I think. That's not part of me.

This weekend, I'm going to try something. I'm going to swing by the pet section when I go to a store.

I invite you to do the same.

I'm going to pick up a giant bag of dog food, adding 30 pounds to my burden. I'm going to carry that bag with me for a little while.

When it gets too heavy, I'll set it down and walk away. I won't look back.

That much of me is gone, hopefully forever.
