Kendrick Perkins denies his 'time for a change' tweet had anything to do with basketball

Less than two hours after the Thunder’s victory over Phoenix on Sunday night, center Kendrick Perkins sent out and immediately deleted a strange tweet.

“I’m sitting here thinking and it might be time for a change,” Perkins’ tweet read.

It was not immediately clear what the statement meant. But the timing and content allowed for obvious speculation.

As his production has declined the past few seasons, so has his playing time. And against the Suns on Sunday, Perkins played only 16 minutes, his lowest output of the season.

So the immediate thought was that his tweet was in direct correlation with his current role in the Thunder rotation.

But on Monday night, Perkins sent out another tweet, this one attempting to reassure fans that his tweet wasn’t a cryptic message signaling his unhappiness in Oklahoma City, but rather a personal matter.
