With various news outlets reporting Memphis coach John Calipari will be the new head coach at Kentucky, Larry Orton, the father of Kentucky signee and Bishop McGuinness forward Daniel Orton, sounds convinced Calipari will be taking over at the tradition-rich SEC school.
“It’s a done deal,” Larry said. “Nobody’s going to turn down 35 million dollars.” Asked how that will influence Daniel’s decision, Larry said: “Kentucky is still Daniel’s No. 1 choice,” Larry said. “We’ll have to wait and talk to Calipari. It’s Kentucky until we talk to him.”
